ASBFEO directly collects some of your information—including personal information. Generally, this information is collected to enable ASBFEO to properly and efficiently carry out its functions and deliver services to you.

ASBFEO will collect and use your information to deliver its two functions:

• to provide dispute resolution services to small businesses and family enterprises
• to advocate on behalf of small business and family enterprises.

Your information—including personal information—is collected by a variety of software applications, services and platforms used by your device and by ASBFEO to support it to deliver its functions.

This type of information collection is ‘passive’ as ASBFEO is not collecting this information directly and it does not directly relate to ASBFEO’s provision of services. ASBFEO conducts a privacy impact assessment (PIA) for all projects we reasonably consider involve any new or changed ways of managing, collecting, holding, using or disclosing personal information that is likely to have a significant impact on the privacy of individuals.

All personal information collected by the ASBFEO is protected by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The ASBFEO is collecting your personal information for the purpose of including you on the ASBFEO’s mailing list for the e-newsletter. This information may be shared internally within the ASBFEO. It will be stored securely, and treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy which also contains information about how you may access or correct your personal information and how you can complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles.

In using this service, the company may collect personal information which may contain email addresses and other information to be used for the distribution of email campaigns and other important information. 
 

All information collected using the service is the property of Department of the Treasury and is never shared or used by third parties.
